Apr 15, 2025    Rhett Barbour

Tuesday was a busy day and Jesus knows his time is running short.

Transcript:

Again, every morning, Jesus walks into Jerusalem, and every evening, he takes the 90-minute walk back to stay with his friends.

I wonder what those walks were like.

Knowing what was coming…

What were His prayers like?

What were His conversations like?

Tuesday seems to be His busiest day that week.

So. Many. Teachings.

We get the parable of the vineyard tenants—the ones who kill the manager’s son.

The parable of the two sons—one who says he’ll do something but doesn’t, and the other who refuses at first but actually follows through. Who did the will of the Father? The one who acted.

He warns the teachers of the law—over and over again.

-Be people of your word.

-Do what you say you’ll do.

-Don’t live with hypocrisy.

Then, He teaches about who will actually have a seat at His table in the Kingdom to come.

The parable of the talents…

The parable of the ten virgins…

Warnings of the difficulties ahead for His followers.

Meanwhile, the religious leaders are desperate to arrest Him.

But they can’t.

They can’t find the time. They can’t find the place.

Because the crowds are growing—and they are enthralled with Him.
